Here goes. I show up at the ride just as everybody is getting ready to leave and there was a already a lot of arguing and trash talking going down. Jay, Fred, Phil, Val, and JJ were there, maybe a few others. Some of what I heard being shouted was that “it’s going to be a hammerfest tonight, feelings and people might get hurt, that’s just the way it’s going to be.” I just decided right then that I was going to sit back and watch it all unfold! As the pace picks up right at the beginning, we see fast Freddie coming towards us, so there is now even more whining and trash talk going down. Not much farther down the road, a car honked as it was about to pass and that irritated Phil so bad that he took his water bottle and threw it through the passenger window hitting the driver in the face!! After some verbal exchanges, the driver left! I was in shock, but it only got better. Attack after attack was hapening the whole time. Once we turned north towards the gas plant and was getting ready to climb the steep little hill, Freddie attacked, but Val wasn’t going to let that hapen. She pulled out her hand pump and jabed it into Freddie’s front wheel sending him over the bars onto the ground!! As he was getting up,all scraped up, he told us to go on? As we finally made the turn on Smithland for the last stretch, Jim went to the front and pulled us at 32mph the rest of the way back into town, that’s why he’s too tired to write this. During this TT effort by JJ, Phil tries to attack, but Fred back hands him in the chest so hard that it knocked Phil into the ditch, I was in shock again! So with about 100 yards from the flashing light, Jay pulls around JJ, and sprints to the light with his arms in the air. Looking like things were going to get heated back at the school, I decided I better just go on home. That’s what I remember from the ride last night.
It is rare that two people recall a series of events exactly the same way, but in this case I am sure that I remember last night exactly the way that Ty describes.
That was the best report ever. I must have been more tired than I thought because I can’t remember anything; but I know awesome your memory is Ty so I’m goin’ with it!!! Thanks buddy :^)
